Staying local: Serra teammates Green (DE), Houston (OLB), Burnett (WR) pick USC

USC scored a trio of Serra teammates.

Rasheem Green, the No. 5-ranked defensive end in the country according to Scout.com. 

Green, the No. 22 player overall according to Scout.com, chose USC over Arizona State, Miami and Oregon. 

The defensive tackle stands at 6-foot-5, 275 pounds and reportedly runs a 4.8 40-yard dash. During his final two seasons with Serra, Green collected 20 sacks and 47 tackles for loss.

John Houston, the nation's 6th-ranked outside linebacker, from Serra, will suit up for the Trojans in the fall. Houston, the No. 54 player, chose the Trojans over Arizona State, Oregon and Oklahoma. 

Houston is 6-3, 208 pounds and still has some growing to do. He recorded 147 tackles during his senior season at Serra, to go along with three sacks, six tackles for loss, three interceptions and three forced fumbles.

And, to top off a banner day at Serra High, three-star receiver Deontay Burnett (the 82nd-ranked WR in the country) picked the Trojans after being verbally committed to Washington State.

Ex-Serra TE Caleb Wilson also inked with the Trojans as a preferred walk-on and will join his dad, Chris, the USC defensive line coach, at USC.

Later in the day, Long Beach Poly star Iman Marshall pledged his talents to the Trojans as well.
