StaTuesday: Wild defenseman Suter gets offensive

Ryan Suter has always chewed up minutes.

The 6-foot-1 defenseman has averaged at least 25 minutes of ice time in each of the last five seasons, dating back to his final two years in Nashville.

But while Suter was a big presence in the Predators' defensive zone alongside big-shooting blue-liner Shea Weber, the Wild have made the former Wisconsin Badger the focal point of their defensive corps.

Suter's ice time has continued to climb since signing with the Wild, peaking at 29 minutes, 25 seconds during the 2014 season, a metric that led the NHL.

But while the big-bodied American's hefty workload has never been higher, his offensive numbers are starting to make a bigger dent on the stat sheet as well.

Through 13 games, Suter has racked up two goals and nine assists on 27 shots on goal, good enough for a shooting percentage of 7.4 percent, a full three points better than his career mark of 4.3 percent.

With that in mind, let's take a look at where Suter ranks among the league's TOI leaders.
