Stanley Johnson reportedly in car accident after NBA Draft declaration
Arizona Wildcats forward Stanley Johnson declared for the 2015 NBA Draft with a press conference Thursday, but he didn't stay out of the news once it ended.
Shortly after holding the announcement at McKale Center, Johnson was in a car accident on the north side of the University of Arizona campus, the Arizona Daily Wildcat student newspaper reported.
It's unknown if Johnson was at fault, but he was photographed speaking with police and in front of Dodge Challenger with a crumpled front end. It collided with a Ford Explorer, according to the report.
Johnson appeared uninjured in a photo tweeted out by Daily Wildcat reporter Justin Spears while at the scene, and in a picture later published by the school paper.

Absolving worry about the forward's health was a photo posted on Twitter by Arizona football receiver Cayleb Jones. In a selfie, Jones and Johnson posed or the camera with a caption, "@_5Gauge he's good no worries, no car wreck around here! #1love."

Johnson averaged 13.8 points and 6.5 rebounds per game as a freshman and took his time making a final decision about his future, something he spoke at length of Thursday before the car accident. The 6-foot-7, 245-pound swingman is projected as a top 10 pick and is ninth on DraftExpress.com's mock draft board.
