Social media reaction to Jason Witten retiring after 15 seasons with the Dallas Cowboys

After a weeklong speculation of would-he, wouldn’t he, Jason Witten decided to hang up his cleats during a press conference at The Star in front of Dallas Cowboys legends past and present.

Witten played 15 seasons in the NFL all with the Dallas Cowboys. He played through a broken jaw in 2003. He played through a lacerated spleen in 2012. He played through countless hard hits to the body that could’ve knocked some of the toughest players out.

And who could forget 2007 when almost scored a touchdown against the Eagles without a helmet.

That is the Jason Witten, Cowboys fans and teammates will remember. A leader, a legend and future Hall of Famer.

Once the announcement became official, the social-sphere ignited with many current players, legends and fans sharing their support to the tight end.
