SLU grinds out 76-74 win over George Mason in double OT
ST. LOUIS -- Mike Crawford scored nine of his 22 points in the second overtime and made a layup at the buzzer, Reggie Agbeko added 17 points, and Saint Louis beat George Mason 76-74 on Wednesday night.
Jalen Jenkins made one of two free throws, Jaire Grayer hit a 3 from the corner, and the Patriots led 70-65 in the second overtime. Crawford made a layup and two free throws, then tied it at 72 with a 3-pointer. Agbeko's jumper gave the Billikens a 74-72 edge, but Justin Kier tied it with two free throws with 11 seconds to go. Crawford made a driving layup in traffic and the ball bounced off the rim before falling in at the buzzer.
George Mason tied it at 59 at the end of regulation, and Saint Louis tied it at 64 with a free throw in the first overtime.
Davell Roby scored 12 points for the Billikens (7-15, 3-7 Atlantic 10) and Crawford had a career-high six assists.
Otis Livingston II scored a career-high 29 with five 3-pointers for the Patriots (14-8, 4-5).
