SLU coach joins Twitter, follows one person: Top recruit Tatum
Saint Louis University coach Jim Crews played at Indiana under legendary coach Bob Knight and was a member of the last team to finish a season undefeated. He's amassed 420 wins over 27 seasons as a head coach for Evansville, Army and Saint Louis University. But never, in all his years, had he ever sent out a tweet.
Well, the 61-year-old can now check that one off the bucket list.
Crews, a.k.a. @CoachJimCrews, joined Twitter and sent out his first official 140-character-or-less message to the people Thursday.
And, wouldn't you know it, he decided to follow only one person: Jayson Tatum, the nation's top recruit who has the Billikens currently listed in his final four, along with Kentucky, Kansas and Duke.
Tatum recently took his official visit to SLU and was greeted by students on his ride through campus with "S-A-I-N-T T-A-T-U-M!" chants.
Tatum, by the way, returned the favor and gave Crews a follow — along with another gentleman in a banana costume. Because social media.
