Sixers kick-start #NBAPokemon craze; Cavs follow with hilarious entry

The Cavs have lured plenty of big-name free agents this offseason. Now, are they catching Pokemon fever?

Yes, that's right -- Pokemon. Who could forget the franchise with the tagline "Gotta Catch 'Em All" that included a card game, video game, anime series and film?

Well, trends sometimes pop up on Twitter in the spheres you least expect. Thus is #NBAPokemon.

It appears the hashtag was reinvigorated by the Philadelphia 76ers, who decided to pay homage to the anniversary of the Pokemon TV series with a Sixer-themed creation. Other teams, including the Cavs, have followed suit.

The Pelicans and Jazz tried (effort counts for something).

The Mavericks incorporated star Dirk Nowitzki with Geodude and tried to give their take on a fire Pokemon, Charmander, with Chandler Parsons.

But the Cavs have to be the winners of trend so far with their nod to Charmander using Anderson Varejao (and his signature hair).

Varejao certainly brings fire to The Q so we say it's an apt depiction - and that Pokemon hasn't been so cool since the elementary school lunchroom.
