She's Hot Wired rallies late to win Monmouth Park feature

OCEANPORT, N.J. (AP) She's Hot Wired overtook Bustin Out in the closing strides to win the $60,000 Open Mind Handicap by a nose at Monmouth Park on Monday.

Trained by Mario Serey Jr. and ridden by Trevor McCarthy, the 5-year-old mare ran the six furlongs over a sloppy track in 1:10 4/5 and paid $13.20, $4.80 and $3.20. It was the fifth win in 35 career starts for She's Hot Wired, who has now earned $307,046

Bustin Out, who held the lead for most of the race, paid $4.20 and $3.20, while Love Came to Town was a neck back in third and returned $2.80.
