SDSU football jerseys 'two years in the making' revealed
SAN DIEGO -- San Diego State unveiled new football uniforms for the 2015 season on Tuesday.
The one-of-a-kind helmet design will go along with new home-and-away uniforms, both of which feature the Aztec Calendar. Sonny Sanfilippo, the assistant director of athletic equipment services at SDSU says of the Aztec Calendar print, "It's something that we've used in the past. It's been a while but now we're bringing it back to the forefront to incorporate into the program."
SDSU will debut these new uniforms on Saturday, Sept. 5 in the season opener against USD. The home game at Qualcomm Stadium is set for 5 p.m. PT.
The new uniform features an all-new chassis including the latest in lightweight fabric innovation built for maximum speed, ventilation and comfort. San Diego State's helmet will feature a black stripe down the middle, which is a color not seen on an SDSU helmet since 2004, and a red Aztec calendar on each side.
The team will play in black at home, and wear white on the road. These uniforms are a culmination of a two year partnership with Nike.
