SAfrica racks up 2nd highest WT20 total, 229-4 vs England
MUMBAI, India (AP) South Africa bludgeoned England with the second highest total in World Twenty20 history in making 229-4 on Friday.
Hashim Amla blazed 58 off 31 deliveries and Quinton de Kock smashed 52 off 24 balls against the same England bowling attack which was destroyed by West Indian Chris Gayle only two days ago.
JP Duminy joined in South Africa's runfest with an unbeaten 54 off 28 balls.
Openers Amla and de Kock cracked seven fours and three sixes each in a rollicking start of 96 off 43 balls after England won the toss and opted to field first.
Offspinner Moeen Ali removed Amla and de Kock to finish with 2-34.
