Ryan Hollins blog: Playoffs
The NBA playoffs, wow, what a ride. Golden State gave us a seven-game battle, and now that we have moved on it's important to stay humble and take things one game at a time. Winning a playoff game is one of the hardest things to do, it's the most emotionally tasking and fun parts of the game. The series went to the wire and in the closing seconds on our home court we were able to take care of business.
The battle continues, going into OKC and winning Game 1 was huge, they have been here before, and they are a tough team. After losing two games straight and mounting a huge comeback in Game 4, we are fighting hard for this series. I have a lot of respect for Kevin Durant and his teammates. They play hard non-stop, and we knew before Game 3 it would be a tough game with all the emotion of his great MVP speech. They are one of the best teams in basketball and we have our work cut out for us.
I also have a ton of respect for Jamal. He is so deserving of his Sixth Man Award and one of the biggest things I took from his speech was that he didn't forget anyone, continuing to be selfless even when being awarded. Being Sixth Man of the Year means you are dedicated to your team, setting aside your personal goals for the betterment of the team. Jamal sacrifices and plays his role even though he's talented enough to start. It really speaks to his character, I appreciate him as a teammate and really enjoyed his speech.
