Royals reinstate Dyson from DL, call up Almonte

The Kansas City Royals weren't short on speed to begin with, but now they get even faster with the return of outfielder Jarrod Dyson from the disabled list.

The Royals announced Tuesday that Dyson had been reinstated from the 15-day DL following a rehab assignment at Triple A Omaha. Dyson has been working his way back from a right oblique strain he suffered in spring training.

To make room on the 25-man roster, the Royals optioned outfielder Reymond Fuentes to Omaha.

In a separate move, the Royals placed right-hander Dillon Gee on the paternity leave list and recalled right-hander Miguel Almonte from Omaha. Gee's wife gave birth to a daughter on Monday.
