Rookie forward Branden Dawson officially member of LA Clippers
The Clippers have signed rookie forward Branden Dawson, the team announced on Wednesday.
The 22-year-old Dawson was a second-team All-Big Ten performer in his final season at Michigan State, averaging 11.9 points and 9.1 rebounds per game.
The Clippers acquired the rights to the 56th pick in the 2015 NBA Draft in trade with Pelicans, which allowed Los Angeles to take Dawson.
During four Orlando Summer League games, Dawson put up nice numbers (12.8 points, 10.3 boards) in 25.5 minutes.
The 6-foot-6, 225 pounder finished his tenure in East Lansing as the school's all-time leader in blocks (142). He's also one of three players (Draymond Green and Adreian Payne) in Michigan State history with 1,00 career points and 100-career blocks.
