RG3 sings 'Billie Jean' on Instagram then debates social media habits

This is a story about quarterback Robert Griffin III, a classic Michael Jackson song, a disgruntled Washington Redskins fan, and divergent views on how a professional athlete ought to conduct himself on social media. Put another way, it's kind of weird.

Here's the video that Griffin -- conspicuously absent from a recent Washington mailing about the future of the team -- posted Monday morning that sparked a debate.

An error occurred while retrieving the Instagram post. It might have been deleted.

Naturally, critics emerged in the comments.

“This is why you will be cut after next year in Washington,” Instagram user @cperezrn wrote. “Why you weren’t even mentioned as the future. You are a ‘QB’. Act like one." The user elaborated, “He cares more about his brand, social media than working in his craft. After the 2016 seasons respond back to me if I am wrong. He will be cut by the Redskins after those years. Brees, Brady, Rodgers, Manning don’t act this way. Very simple observation."
