Report: Texans interested in soon-to-be free agent Hoyer
Cleveland Browns quarterback Brian Hoyer will face the Houston Texans has he attempts to keep his squad in first place in the AFC North, however the matchup could reportedly end up being a job interview for next season.
According to Adam Scheffer of ESPN, the Texans are one of the teams interested in signing Hoyer in the offseason when he becomes a free agent.
Houston head coach Bill O'Brien worked with the six-year NFL veteran during their time together in New England with the Patriots, thus giving the Texans the edge as Hoyer would reportedly welcome a reunion.
Hoyer has burst onto the scene this season leading the Browns to a 6-3 record, defending first place in the AFC North enter Sunday's game against the Texans. While Cleveland has been impressed with Hoyer's performance this season, the team also has Johnny Manziel waiting in the ranks to presumably take over the starting quarterback role in the future if he is to depart in the offseason.
The Texans are reportedly not the only team in the AFC South with interest in signing Hoyer. The Tennessee Titans, coached by Ken Whisenhunt, who worked with the quarterback when the two were together with the Arizona Cardinals, are throwing their name in the mix as well.
