Report: Texans hire Crennel at defensive coordinator, waiting on Munchak
New Texans head coach Bill O'Brien has only been on the job for a little over a week, but already has made a lot of progress in putting together his coaching staff after cleaning house shortly after being introduced as the team's third head coach in its short history.
Wednesday, O'Brien interviewed Romeo Crennel for the defensive coordinator position, and according to reports, the former Chiefs and Browns head coach, who is often regarded as one of the best defensive minds in the NFL, is expected to take the job.
In addition to Crennel, the Texans are reportedly waiting for word from Mike Munchak, who was fired as the Tennessee Titan's head coach last week, if he will accept the offensive line position.
In addition to adding two former head coaches to his new staff, O'Brien is reportedly bringing over six of his assistants who coached with him at Penn State and has hired Mike Vrabel from Ohio State to be the linebackers coach.
