The Gophers might have new life in the Seantrel Henderson sweepstakes. The recent graduate of Cretin-Derham Hall committed to Southern California in February, but a national report today indicates that his status is about to change.

"USC will release Seantrel Henderson from his national LOI today Lane Kiffin told me," read a Twitter posting by ESPN national college football reporter Joe Schad earlier today.

Henderson chose USC over the hometown Gophers and a handful of national powers, but that was before the program was hit with heavy sanctions in the wake of recruiting violations and illegal benefits allegedly provided to Heisman Trophy winner Reggie Bush and other Trojans.
