Report: Damon, Affleck movie about Yankees wife swap still a go

Noted Red Sox fans Matt Damon and Ben Affleck still reportedly have plans to produce a movie about a pair of Yankees players who swapped wives in the early 1970s.

"The Trade" will be based on New York pitchers Mike Kekich and Fritz Peterson, who announced to the press in 1973 that they traded spouses. The movie is still apparently in the works despite Kekich's objections.

Via the New York Post:

"Kekich was panicked. He'd settled quietly in New Mexico and was 'freaked out,' according to sources. He had determined not to cooperate and other former teammates agreed to do the same."

Regardless of the freeze-out, Warner Bros. is still apparently moving forward with the film, and Jay Roach is signed on to direct. It will be intriguing to see what Roach does with the topic of wife swapping, since his resume includes "Meet the Parents" and "Austin Powers."
