Report: Clippers trade Blake Griffin to Pistons

LOS ANGELES -- Blake Griffin has been traded to the Pistons from the Clippers, according to ESPN.

Detroit pulled off a blockbuster a week before the trade deadline, shipping Tobias Harris, Avery Bradley, Boban Marjanovic, plus a first and second-round pick to Los Angeles for Griffin, Brice Johnson and Willie Reed.

A five-time All-Star, Griffin had spent his first eight seasons in L.A. after being selected by the Clippers with the first overall pick in the 2009 draft. He has been slowed in recent seasons by a number of injuries - including a sprained left MCL which sidelined him for 14 games in December. Griffin is averaging 22.6 points and 7.9 rebounds in 33 games this season and joins a Pistons team that has lost its last eight to drop to ninth in the East.
