Report: Bell limited in Sooners' practice

Blake Bell has reportedly been taking a limited amount of snaps at quarterback, The Oklahoman reported Thursday.

Bell, who was moved to tight end after last season ended, said Thursday to The Oklahoman, he hasn't taken a snap at quarterback since January, but the paper is reporting sources say Bell is practicing against the second team at quarterback in case starter Trevor Knight is injured.

Knight came out of two games last season due to injury.

A portion of OU's practice was open to the media Thursday. Bell did not take any reps at quarterback.

Bell quarterbacked the Sooners to wins at Notre Dame as well as helping OU past Oklahoma State in December, but Knight's performance against Alabama sealed the starting job.

Monday, coach Bob Stoops said Cody Thomas has earned the back-up job. The Sooners also have Justice Hansen at quarterback. Baker Mayfield is on the roster, but has yet to be cleared as eligible for this season.
