Reds' Rolen activated from disabled list

CLEVELAND (AP) -- Scott Rolen has been activated from the disabled list, and the third baseman is in the Cincinnati Reds' lineup for the opener of a series against the Cleveland Indians.
Infielder-outfielder Kristoper Negron was optioned to Triple-A Louisville to make room for Rolen, who had been out since May 12 because of a sore right shoulder. Rolen is batting seventh in the lineup on Monday night
Rolen was hampered by the shoulder for a while before going on the disabled list. In 29 games, he hit only .174 with two homers and 11 RBIs.
The 37-year-old Rolen is a .281 hitter with 310 homers and 1,259 RBIs in a career that started with Philadelphia in 1997. Rolen also played for St. Louis and Toronto before being acquired by the Reds from the Blue Jays at the 2009 trade deadline.
