Reds prospect doesn't let lost shoe prevent a triple

Spring training is a time for veterans to get ready for the season and youngsters to make impressions for the future.

If Kyle Waldrop, a Reds prospect who plays the outfield and first base, can't make a name for himself with his bat this spring, perhaps he can with one of his shoes.

Waldrop retweeted the clip, so it stands to reason he is taking the blooper in stride.

The left-handed hitting Fort Myers, Fla., native is also having a decent spring, having hit .263 in nine games. The triple was his first of the spring, and he also has a home run, two doubles and four RBI. Four of his five hits have gone for extra bases.

A 12th-round draft pick in 2010, he is coming off a strong season split between advanced Single-A Bakersfield and Double-A Pensacola and hit a combined .338 with 14 homers, 37 doubles, four triples and 67 RBI. His OPS of .902 was by far the best of his five seasons in the minors.
