Reds option Soto, call up Lutz

The Reds have optioned infielder Neftali Soto to Triple-A Louisville and recalled infielder-outfielder Donald Lutz.

The 25-year-old Lutz started the season in Double-A with Pensacola, where he was batting .360, hit six home runs and drove in 16 runners in 23 games. Since being promoted to Louisville last week, Lutz has a .200 batting average, a home run and three RBI.

Lutz appeared in 34 games for the Reds last season.

Soto was hitting .107 in 28 at-bats with the Reds this season.
