Reds minor leaguer suspended for positive test

NEW YORK (AP) -- Cincinnati third baseman Robert Ramirez has been suspended 50 game for a positive test under baseball's minor league drug program.
Ramirez was penalized Friday for testing positive for metabolites of Nandrolone.


The 21-year-old hit .222 with two homers and 20 RBIs for Dayton of the Class A Midwest League this year and .185 with two homers and 10 RBIs for Billings of the rookie level Pioneer League.
Ramirez is on Dayton's roster and will serve his suspension at the start of next season.
There have been 55 suspensions this year under the minor league drug program and 15 under the major league program.
