Red Sox reach Major League deal with Sizemore
Grady Sizemore has reached a deal with the Boston Red Sox.
The deal was first reported by Rob Bradford, Red Sox beat writer for sports radio station WEEI-FM in Boston.
The former Indians outfielder will reportedly receive a one-year Major League deal worth $750,000. He can earn up to $6 million with incentives.
The deal is somewhat surprising, as 31-year-old Sizemore hasn't played in the big leagues since 2011 and hasn't played a full season since 2008 due to various injuries and surgeries.
While multiple teams (including the Reds), showed interest in Sizemore this offseason, it seemed more likely that he would sign a minor league deal with an invite to Major League camp. The Red Sox however, must have seen something in the once very productive player.
