Rays' Evan Longoria misses game with flu symptoms
ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. -- Tampa Bay Rays third baseman Evan Longoria was a late scratch from the lineup Sunday because he’s suffering from flu-like symptoms.
In his place, Kelly Johnson will play third base and bat seventh against the Baltimore Orioles at Tropicana Field. Longoria is hitting .263 with 29 home runs and 77 RBI this season. Johnson is hitting .241 with 16 home runs and 51 RBI.
Johnson, 31, has hit .154 with one RBI in 26 at-bats in September.
