Rangers starters ailing
ARLINGTON, Texas – Texas left-hander Matt Harrison has been slowed by lower back soreness since his last start but is still scheduled to get the ball Thursday in Seattle.
Harrison experienced the soreness during his Saturday start against Los Angeles. He has not worked out in the field with the rest of the club the last two days. He's hoping he'll be able to throw his bullpen as scheduled Tuesday.
"I felt it probably two weeks ago, maybe longer," Harrison said. "It's not really a pain. It's more like weakness."
Harrison, who won 18 games last season, is off to a 0-2 start with an 8.44 ERA.
He allowed five runs in five innings in Saturday's 8-4 loss to the Angels.
Right-hander Yu Darvish is also still expected to make his start Friday in Seattle. He left his Sunday start after five innings because of a blister-like issue on his right ring finger.
