Rangers' Profar still hasn't made WBC decision

Texas Rangers general manager Jon Daniels might have spoken too soon in his Tuesday media conference call.

Daniels said that Jurickson Profar, the No. 1 prospect in baseball, had informed the club that he decided not to play in the World Baseball Classic for the Netherlands this year.

Once word got back to Profar's native Curacao on Tuesday, Profar is now rethinking his decision.

"24 days till the first game excited to play with guys I grew up with @jonathanmamba46 @andrelton," Profar tweeted Wednesday.

That might nor might not happen. Mike Daly, the team's director of international scouting, talked with Profar on Wednesday. Profar said he'll now wait until he gets to spring training with the Rangers next week before he makes a decision.

Two weeks ago Profar said he was excited about playing in the WBC but was unsure if he would play. He said it was more important for him to make the Texas roster.
