Rangers interview Lovullo

The Texas Rangers restarted the managerial interview process Tuesday with Boston bench coach Torey Lovullo interviewing for the vacancy.

Lovullo was the first of the six remaining scheduled candidates to interview. Interim manager Tim Bogar, Pittsburgh bench coach Jeff Banister, Cleveland bullpen coach Kevin Cash, former major leaguer Alex Cora, Chicago White Sox third base coach Joe McEwing still have to interview.

The club has already interviewed pitching coach Mike Maddux and Triple A manager Steve Buechele.

Lovullo has been busy this offseason. He interviewed for the Houston job that A.J. Hinch got Minnesota has interest in him.

Lovullo just finished his second season as the bench coach in Boston. He spent nine seasons as a minor-league manager in the Boston and Cleveland systems. The former big leaguer spent parts of eight seasons in the majors, playing for seven teams.
