Rangers bring back Francisco, Lowe to bolster 'pen

After the Rangers bullpen crumbled in October, the club has taken steps to strengthen the beleaguered group by reintegrating a pair of arms that played a limited role on the postseason roster.

The first move was finalized on Monday with right-hander Mark Lowe agreeing to a one-year, $1.2 million contract. The UT-Arlington alum was acquired by the Rangers in the Cliff Lee deal and spent most of last season on the DL before making the postseason roster and pitching an inning in the World Series.

Lowe was stellar in 2009, his last full season, compiling a 3.26 ERA and 26 holds in 80 innings pitched.

The second transaction involves the longest-tenured arm in the bullpen, setup man Frankie Francisco who, according to FOXSports.com
