Rangers add two more to roster

The Texas Rangers continue to add pieces to the 2015 roster.

The club has agreed to a deal with right-hander Kyuji Fujikawa and signed infielder/outfielder Kyle Blanks to a minor-league deal.

Fujikawa will make $1 million plus performances bonuses and the club has an option for 2015 according to a source. The deal is pending a physical. Blanks is getting a minor-league deal with an invite to spring training.

Fujikawa pitched for the Chicago Cubs in relief but had his 2013 season cut short by Tommy John surgery. Fujikawa, 34, only 13 innings in 2014 and posted a 4.85 ERA.

Blanks has had great power numbers in the minors but those haven't translated at the big-league level. He has 30 home runs in 762 at-bats but hit just .234 in parts of six seasons with San Diego before finishing the 2014 season with Oakland.

The right-handed hitter can play first base, the outfield and could provide a right-handed bat at designated hitter. He hit 44 home runs in the minors over the 2007 and 2008 seasons and debuted with San Diego in 2009, swatting 10 home runs in just 148 at-bats.
