Rams won't renew contracts of five assistant coaches

ST. LOUIS -- The St. Louis Rams will not renew contracts of five assistant coaches including Jeff Garcia, who lasted one year as an offensive assistant.

Others who won't be back are wide receivers coach Ray Sherman, running backs coach Ben Sirmans, assistant strength and conditioning coach Adam Bailey and assistant special teams coach Paul Boudreau.

The Rams had the worst offense in the NFL and finished 7-9, their 12th season in a row without a winning record. Coach Jeff Fisher will be back for a fifth season despite a 27-36-1 record.

Rookie Todd Gurley made the Pro Bowl and was third in the league in rushing, but wide receivers struggled -- Kenny Britt led the way with 681 yards.
