Power outage in San Jose causes 2nd intermission to start early

The lights went out in the Shark Tank.

With about 2:42 left in the 2nd period of Thursday night's game between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the San Jose Sharks the overheard lights suddenly turned off.

So, what do you do? They can't play hockey in the dark.

According to the NHL bylaws the refs have the power to start the second intermission as soon as possible and the teams can finish the remainder of the 2nd period before the start of the 3rd period after the intermission.

You never know what will happen during late night hockey.
