Pistons reportedly 'monitoring' Markieff Morris situation

In what should be considered an unsurprising development, Vincent Ellis of the Detroit Free Press tweeted Monday that the Pistons are "monitoring" the Markieff Morris situation in Phoenix.

Markieff's twin, Marcus, was traded to Detroit in the off-season, and Markieff went public in the aftermath of the trade with his wishes to play elsewhere. But he has walked back from those statements since the start of training camp, saying "I want to be here."

Markieff Morris told Paul Coro of azcentral.com that he understands that he has some work to do in working his way back into the good graces of Suns' fans, but he intends to do so.

"It is what it is," he said. "I'll win them back."

Morris sat out the Suns' preseason scrimmage on Saturday with a sore hip but was expected to play in Wednesday night's preseason opener vs. Sacramento.
