Peyton Manning visits site of fatal shooting in Chattanooga

Former Volunteers quarterback Peyton Manning returned to Tennessee on Saturday to pay his respects to the servicemen killed in a shooting attack earlier in the week at the Naval Marine Corps Reserve Center in Chattanooga.

According to NBC affiliate WRCB, the Broncos QB showed up at the reserve late Saturday night to visit with military personnel and police officers.

The Chattanooga police department shared this photo from Manning's visit:

In addition to the four U.S. Marines killed during the July 16 attack by lone gunman Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez, a U.S. Navy petty officer wounded during the attack died from his injuries early Saturday. A Chattanooga police officer shot in the ankle after responding remains hospitalized.

Manning played for the Knoxville-based University of Tennessee from 1994-1997.
