Perera feels vindicated after positive doping test withdrawn

COLOMBO, Sri Lanka (AP) Sri Lanka batsman Kusal Perera believes he has been vindicated by the lifting of a suspension on him after a positive doping sample was withdrawn.

The International Cricket Council announced on Thursday it has withdrawn disciplinary proceedings and the provisional suspension against Perera after an anti-doping laboratory in Qatar withdrew an initial positive doping report.

The ICC said Perera could immediately return to domestic and international cricket.

Last December, Perera was charged with a doping offense after supposedly testing positive for the banned steroid 10-Norandrostenedione.
