Pelicans' Davis exits Cavaliers game with chest contusion

The Pelicans star forward Anthony Davis gingerly exited the court part of the way through the first quarter of New Orleans' matchup with the Cleveland Cavaliers Friday night after sustaining a blow to his chest.

Davis didn't bother to sit down on the bench for trainers to evaluate him. He walked directly into the tunnel and on to the team locker room, head down and in obvious pain.

X-rays revealed no broken bones. New Orleans' medical staff diagnosed Davis with a chest contusion. He was ruled out at the end of the third quarter.

Davis never returned to the Pelicans' bench. In fact, he left the Smoothie King Center before the game ended.
