Pedro Martinez's Hall of Fame plaque features his Jheri curl

By Larry Brown.

Pedro Martinez had one request when he was voted into the Hall of Fame:Make sure the image on my plaque includes my Jheri curl. Thankfully those in Cooperstown didn’t let him down.

Pedro was enshrined in the Baseball Hall of Fame Sunday along with Randy Johnson, John Smoltz and Craig Biggio, making for one of the best classes of all time. Pedro and The Big Unit were two of the most dominant pitchers of their time, and they’re among the best in baseball history. They also have two of the more notable hairstyles in the game.

While Pedro was proud to have the Jheri curl as part of his plaque, Johnson is thankful that he’s no longer sporting the mullet.

“I’m so glad I no longer have a bad mullet,” he said during his speech.

Though the two were rival pitchers during their careers, they made friends at their induction. Pedro even gave The Unit some bunny ears:

Pedro and Randy in the same Hall of Fame class. It’s hard to get better than that.
