Panthers recall goalie Dan Ellis
The Florida Panthers made a couple of moves on Thursday morning after Wednesday's 1-0 win over the Carolina Hurricanes.
They recalled goalie Dan Ellis from San Antonio (AHL), while placing forward Scottie Upshall on injured reserve (retroactive to Monday).
Ellis, 34, has played in 204 games between the Nashville Predators (2007-10), Tampa Bay Lightning (2010-11), Anaheim Ducks (2011-12), Carolina Hurricanes (2012-13), Dallas Stars (2003-04 & 2013-14) and Panthers (2013-14). He has a 83-76-0-17 record with 14 shutouts. In 12 games with San Antonio this season, he was 8-4-0 with a 2.13 GAA and a .918 save percentage.
During Wednesday's game, Roberto Luongo left midway through the second period with an upper-body injury.
Prior to his lower-body injury, Upshall had three goals and four assists in 17 games with the Panthers.
