Pakistan test cricketer Ahmed Shehzad fails doping test

ISLAMABAD (AP) Test cricketer Ahmed Shehzad failed a doping test and the Pakistan Cricket Board will issue a charge sheet to the opening batsman on Tuesday.

Shehzad was chosen for a random anti-doping test during the Pakistan Cup in late April. The PCB tweeted Shehzad ''tested positive for a banned substance.'' It didn't elaborate.

The PCB tweeted last month that a cricketer failed a doping test, but was waiting for reconfirmation from Pakistan's anti-doping agency.

He was dropped from Pakistan's Twenty20 team which won the tri-series in Zimbabwe last Sunday. He was also not part of the one-day international squad which will play a five-match series against Zimbabwe starting from Friday.

Shehzad has played 13 tests, 81 ODIs, and 57 Twenty20s for Pakistan, and has centuries in all three formats.
