Padres mid-game report: Richard bitten by home run ball, prospect Olivares hits second home run

SAN DIEGO-- After being spotted a two-run lead after one inning, Padres starter Clayton Richard has allowed two long home runs in consecutive innings.

The first came from a slumping Evan Longoria, who took out his frustrations in the top of the fourth with a 426-foot home run into the second deck in left field. It was a two-run home run for the Giants third baseman.

Then, in the fifth, right fielder Andrew McCutchen led off the inning with a 424-foot blast that also reached the second deck in left field. The home run was the second of the season for the former Pirate.

Clayton Richard was lifted for a pinch hitter in the bottom of the fifth. He allowed four runs on seven hits in his fourth start of the year.
