Padres mid-game report: Perdomo gets hit around, Myers homers in rehab assignment
SAN DIEGO-- Luis Perdomo did not last long in his return from suspension. The right-hander allowed 10 hits, nine runs (seven earned), walked two, and struck out four in three innings of work tonight against the Los Angeles Dodgers. He allowed hard contact from the get-go, and his season ERA now sits at 8.36.
Debate will surely occur in the next few days as to if Perdomo should keep his spot in the rotation. Manager Andy Green has consistently stressed that it is time for him to take the next step and show some improvement in his third big league season.
He has yet to do so.
Perdomo is next scheduled to start on Tuesday in Colorado.
Myers homers in rehab assignment
Playing in the second game of his rehab assignment, RF Wil Myers hit an opposite-field home run tonight for the Lake Elsinore Storm.
He is expected to join the team on Friday in Arizona.
