Padres mid-game report: Lauer settles in after rough first inning

SAN FRANCISCO-- Eric Lauer has settled in nicely after a tumultuous first inning at AT&T Park in San Francisco.

The Giants touched him up for four hits and three earned runs in the first inning, finishing a home run shy of the team cycle. The runs came home on an Andrew McCutchen RBI triple, Buster Posey RBI double, and an Austin Jackson RBI single.

Since the first, though, Lauer has settled in nicely. Making his second big league start, the southpaw has since then fired four scoreless innings.

He has struck out seven hitters on the night.

Since falling down 3-0, San Diego has clawed back to make it 3-2 as we head to the top of the sixth.
