Padres LHP Joey Lucchesi officially added to roster

SAN DIEGO-

LHP Joey Lucchesi, who is making his MLB debut on Friday night, has officially been added to the 40-man roster. To clear a spot, the organization placed Colin Rea on the 60-day DL. Rea had aspirations of pitching for the Padres this season, but a lat strain and elbow issues put him on the shelf early in the spring. He has yet to resume throwing.

To create a spot on the 25-man, the club optioned catcher Raffy Lopez to AAA.
