Packers' Matthews named 77th-best player in NFL

Add another Green Bay Packer to the list of the NFL's best players. In this week's reveal, outside linebacker Clay Matthews was ranked at No. 77.

That's quite the dropoff for Matthews, who last year was rated as the 31st-best overall player in the NFL by his peers. That fall on the list makes some sense, though, as Matthews is coming off a 7.5-sack 2013 season in which he missed five entire games (and parts of other games) due to injuries. Whereas a year ago, Matthews had just completed a 13-sack 2012 season.

Matthews is the third Packers player to make the list so far. Last week, running back Eddie Lacy came in at No. 90 and wide receiver Jordy Nelson was at No. 83. Last year, the only Green Bay players to make it were Matthews and quarterback Aaron Rodgers (ranked No. 6).
