Pacers waive Shayne Whittington

The Shayne Whittington era in Indiana is over.

The Pacers announced Friday they have waived the 6-foot-11 forward/center. Signed as a free agent in 2014 and re-signed last July, Whittington appeared in 27 games for Indiana, averaging 2.5 points and 1.5 rebounds per game.

Whittington also played 40 games with the Fort Wayne Mad Ants last season, averaging 12.1 points and 7.9 rebounds for the NBA Development League team.
