Osgood joins FSD as hockey analyst

FOX Sports Detroit is thrilled to announce the addition of former National Hockey League goaltender Chris Osgood as a game and studio analyst for the 2013-14 season.

Osgood’s 17-year NHL career included three Stanley Cup championships with the Detroit Red Wings. In 2010-11, his final NHL season as a player, Osgood became just the 10th goaltender in NHL history to win 400 games. He's also one of only 10 goaltenders in NHL history who has scored, and one of only five who shot the puck directly into the opponent’s net.

Osgood also spent time with the New York Islanders and St. Louis Blues.

“I’m happy to be joining the FOX Sports Detroit team,” Osgood said. “My best memories as a player were wearing the Winged Wheel. The fans in Detroit have been incredible, and I’m excited to start this new adventure.”

FOX Sports Detroit will broadcast 71 regular-season games and three preseason games this season, with pre- and post-game shows for each telecast. Osgood will be in studio, providing insightful analysis. He'll also serve as the game analyst alongside Ken Daniels on select games throughout the season.

Osgood will make his on-air debut with Mickey Redmond and Ken Daniels during the Sept. 22 and Sept. 25 preseason games, and his first studio appearance on Oct. 4.
