Oscar winner Denzel Washington a Cowboys fan by way of Texas Tech

Denzel Washington loves football in Texas and is a proud Dallas Cowboys fan. 

The Academy Award winner was born and raised in New York, but wanted to go to college all the way in Lubbock at Texas Tech. 

"I played for the Boys Club in Mount Vernon, we were called the Red Raiders,” Washington told WPGC 95.5. "I wanted to go to Texas Tech because they were the Red Raiders. Which got me involved with Texas football… I started watching all of [the teams in Texas].

"I landed with the Cowboys, and I ain’t stop since ... how 'bout them Cowboys!"
