Offensive coordinator Lindsey to stay at ASU
Chip Lindsey, hired in December to replace Mike Norvell as Todd Graham's offensive coordinator at Arizona State, has rebuffed overtures from Southern Mississippi to become its head coach.
Lindsey, offensive coordinator at Southern Miss before accepting the ASU job, became a potential candidate for the head coaching position when Todd Monken resigned to join the staff of newly hired Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Dirk Koetter.
Lindsey issued a tweet on Tuesday morning indicating that his future, at least for the near-term, is in Tempe.
In California looking for future Sun Devils!! Fired up to be part of this program, great things ahead!! #NewDevilsOrder
