Northern Arizona beats Southwestern 97-47

-- Eric Platt scored a career-high 28 points and Cameron Jones added 18 to lead Northern Arizona to a 97-47 win over Southwestern College (Ariz.) Friday night.

Platt shot 10 of 17 from the floor, including 8 of 12 from beyond the 3-point arc, and also grabbed five rebounds. He scored 20 points in the second half to eclipse his previous career high of 26.

Shane Johannsen and Austin Smith pitched in with 11 points apiece for the Lumberjacks (2-2).

The Lumberjacks led 41-27 at halftime and put the game out of reach by scoring 22 straight points during a seven-minute span early in the second half.

Daniel Stanton scored 20 points to lead the Eagles, (0-3) who shot 31.3 percent from the floor. Houston Friend added 10.
